To the Little Boy

Dearest Little Boy,

It's me, Mamma.

Please start talking to Mamma. I'd love to hear your little voice saying stuff to Mamma. The hooting, squealing, giggling, and screeching are good.

"I love you, Mamma" would be great.

The nice speech therapy ladies always tell me how much they love you. But it's nowhere near how much I love you. And even though you haven't said so, I know how much you love Mamma and Dadda and your big sissy and your glasses-having sissy, because your oh-so-tight hugs, sweet and gentle kisses, babba and Sesame Street-time snuggles, and neck-sniffing nuzzles are nothing short of phenomenal. They tell me all I need to know, but there's so much more I want to know...and I can't wait for you to tell me all about so many, many things.

But guess what? Even if you never say a word, I will love you forever beyond measure.

Just thought you should know.

xxxooo,
Mamma

:), very heartfelt letter :) <3

I remember when I was growing up, I didn't really start talking until the 1st day of school, I guess I made my parents worry a little too much about me, but I was always a shy little boy.

Of course then the shy little boy started a blog and everything changed, lol.

Oh, how beautiful. Why did you make me cry? Give the little guy a huge hug, okay? Hugs to you, too.

Kiddo#4 is also not saying anything yet. I keep pointing out that complex needs require complex speech in order to convey them, but he seems to think we've got everything well taken-care of and there's no need to communicate with more than grunts and points. Go figure.

My other two boys also required speech therapy. It's frustrating waiting for them to talk.

Careful what you wish for, Momma - I thought Patrick had delayed speech and now I have to live with the noise! :-D

Beautiful letter Kit. I hope the speech therapy does the trick. It did with my nephew who has semantic pragmatism. My oldest didn't speak until he was just over 3. We were just waiting to see a speech therapist and he finally began talking.
Keep at it. :)

And would you mind coming over to my blog and signing the petition against Sweden banning homeschooling? Thanks
God bless
