The Antidote to Liturgical Madness

If Cardinal Arinze had a fan club, I'd be a dues-paying member. Thank God for the Irish missionaries responsible for the conversion of Nigeria back in the 1800's...

"In Europe and North America...dance should not enter the liturgy at all. People who are discussing liturgical dance should spend that time praying the Rosary."

Brilliant! LOL!!!

OMG...I love him!

May our current Papa be our Papa for many years to come...and when God takes him home, may we have Cdl. Arinze or someone like him!

Kasia - when the time came back in 2005, I really hoped against hope for Cdl. Arinze to be selected, mostly because I thought Cdl. Ratzinger either wouldn't be chosen or, if he were, would decline.

His way of getting right to the heart of issues is so insightful, incisive, yet easy to grasp, and he can explain the most complex issues without ever being condescending or "dumbing down" - he's brilliant, traditional, and just delightful to listen to. I love his gentle sense of humor!

He ordained my Nigerian priest friend, too, so I feel like he's indirectly given me one of the greatest gifts of all.

HUGE fan. :)

I wondered, hopefully, whether Cdl Arinze would be pope but I was overjoyed when we got Papa Beni.
Nevertheless I would love to see this man pope one day-not yet-but one day.
Perhaps he will be to Papa Beni what Cdl Ratzinger was to JPII (the Great)

God bless Kit
PS Just got the oldest boy back from America. He loved every minute.
