From his letter to us on the Vatican website:
Dear brothers and sisters, dear friends in the United States, I am very much looking forward to being with you. I want you to know that, even if my itinerary is short, with just a few engagements, my heart is close to all of you, especially to the sick, the weak, and the lonely. I thank you once again for your prayerful support of my mission. I reach out to every one of you with affection, and I invoke upon you the maternal protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
.
I will be watching all of these events on EWTN, but FYI, there will be a special presentation on the upcoming visit this Sunday at 8 ET on Fox News. I think they've done a nice job in past coverage on Catholicism, the passing of JPII, so I am looking forward to watching this, too.
.
As for tonight, however, I've posted the perfect recipe at Brookside Bistro. Enjoy! ;-)

PS A nice article in today's WSJ by Peggy Noonan:

What terrific photo of our dear papa.
It's a shame you can't get to see him Kit. I saw JPII when he came here twenty five years ago. I still remember every detail of that day.
