So You Wanna Be A Senator?

It'll cost you. Just ask this clown, IL Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who just got shackled and taken into custody for "staggering" corruption relative to whoring out Obama's Senate seat to the highest bidder.

Sheesh. That's two criminally corrupt Democratic Governors ousted in one year...my home state of NY and now my native state of IL...the political springboard of The One, carpetbagger extraordinaire.

Coincidence? I think not.

Tsk...remember George Ryan was a Republican, and so's Ted Stevens. There's plenty of corruption blame to go 'round. :-)

Seriously - I got nothin' nice to say about Blagojevich or Spitzer, but it's not just a Democrat thing. We need a national political purge or something.

Nah - we need term limits. And strict nepotism policies (no one within 7 degrees of relationship can hold the same job?).

I could get down with both of those, TCP.

I mean, considering that the freakin' drugstore my fiancé's mom is a pharmacy tech at wouldn't hire him to cashier at the same location because of nepotism, how is it that our government officials get away with so much crap?

Never mind - I know the answer. It's because they write their own rules.
